CAR-FREE MONTH!
Car-Free Moving Party Sept. 2, San Francisco: This Saturday, September 2, I will be having a CAR-FREE MOVING PARTY to transport my possessions across 13 blocks of the Mission District. This event is being held in cooperation with the SF Bicycle Coaltion to kick off Car-Free Month. All my friends and members of the SFBC are encouraged to bring bicycle trailers and any other human- or electricity-powered transport device, or just bring two strong arms to help load the trailers or pack boxes. Best of all: FREE BEER AND FOOD! I will provide tasty intoxicating beverages and food for y'all. However, please RSVP so I know how large a keg to order. Here are the details: CAR-FREE MOVING PARTY RSVP REQUIRED: (Hey, I gotta know how much beer to buy!) Please contact Steve Piercy, refman-AT-eskimo.com,415-487-0410new number: 415-648-7333. Help a member of the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition (SFBC) move thirteen blocks across the flat Mission District using only bicycles, trailers and other non-motorized transportation. The SFBC will roll out their new 64-inch bicycle trailer from Bikes at Work to demonstrate what is possible with a bicycle and ingenuity. The trailer will be available to SFBC members for their use. Our friends at Bikes at Work made a rush order to complete and ship the trailer in time for the move. It is amazing how much these high-quality trailers can haul. http://www.bikesatwork.com/photos.html Help move an 8-foot sofa, a queen-size bed, an iguana habitat and a few other smaller pieces of furniture, and be treated to tasty food and beer (vegan and veggie options provided). And it's the best kind of beer and food: FREE!
